A Silken String

Through all of life's meandering
There runs a thread, a silken string
Spun from essence heaven gleaned
Beauties child, angels dreamed

Silken essence oft revealed
By boo-boos kissed, boo-boos healed
Through storm, a child her bosom lay
She snuggles all the fears away

Though tension cord do put to test
She holds all through with little rest
Binding fast to all that's dear
Safeguard till all peril's clear

And when another creates a slack
She holds her end and pulls it back
She's faithful with her silken lines
Through all in all, her family binds

And when perchance she starts to fray
Or color fades and turns to grey
Take a closer look you'll see
Her life's a woven tapestry
