"It is the journey that matters, not the desitnation."

What a creation!

I am greatful that the God who made the heavens in all its splendor lavished no less attention on you. What a creation!

Lines on a Page

All going the same way
None intersecting
A diagram of modern loneliness

Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late.
You don't have to like it...
it's just easier if you do.

- Byron Katie

A Photograph

by Mark Burrs - (wip)

The paper holds so little
some pigment on a page
more kin a key to treasures
or frames on silvery stage

The eyes so flat on paper
yet twinkle in my mind
spots of ink that make your smile
remind me you were kind.

The paper fades and yellows
and yet the picture's not
the pigments made with loving
they colour every thought.

A journey rich in memory
a timeless temporal path
traversing through the memories
all from a photograph

Perspective

by Mark Burrs - (wip)

White lined page of loneliness
All going the same way but never to meet
Seeing nothing but the trace ahead
If only you could rise above and see
The company you keep but never are to meet

Then comes the pen
A visual cocaphony of lines skibbled across your borders
Laying waste to your orderliness
Always knowing and anticipating what was to come next
The straight pigment of blue ink flowing to the pages end

If only you could rise above and see
The script upon the page
A sonnet, requiem, history
But you can't...unless
Through the curvature of space the page is rolled back apon itself
A glimpse. An imperfect glimpse at a small piece of the master work

Time Ebbs Away

by Mark Burrs

We hope for tomorrow
Let's not forget today
Or we forget to live
And time just ebbs away

Tonight

Tonight I experienced the most beautiful music I have ever heard played by the greatest musician I may ever see. Through most of it I smiled. I smiled because the beauty reminded me of you. But there was a growing sense of loss. There I was experiencing such an amazing thing and I felt loss because you were not there to share it with. The wellspring that came over me, you may never know and I enjoyed it apart from you.
